Experience the Features and Benefits of Carolina Furniture Works

Basic Case Construction:
Case construction consists of solid wood frames making use of mortise and tenon joinery reinforced with glue and nails (primarily of mixed hardwoods). Birch or Ash veneered plywood end panels are used in a box-end construction to provide strength, beauty, and an all-natural wood finish. Veneered end panels provide enhanced grain patterns that cannot be achieved in solid wood. Horizontal hardwood parting rails, and front to rear wood component supports, strengthen drawer spaces and add structural integrity to the case. Drawers consist of plywood sides, and solid hardwood fronts, using French and English dovetailing. Trim molding and apron accents are crafted from solid wood parts. Drawers have traditional double unit wood-on-metal system and a positive drawer stop safety feature that prevent drawers from coming out of the case. This is a simple system and will be easy to maintain over the years. Each case has a dust proof barrier located under the bottom drawer to prevent unwanted dust, or pests from entering the drawer area where personal belongings are stored. Top quality hardware, or wooden drawer pulls adorn case fronts.

Case Goods Tops:
Tops are composed of all wood frames and simulated wood grain laminate surface. Carolina case tops are the Nevamar brand. Nevamar is certified by the Greenguard Environmental Institute, which means that homeowners and professionals can trust Nevamar decorative surfaces to create spaces free of harmful pollutants. Commercial, residential, healthcare and educational project planners and specifiers can take advantage of Nevamar Greenguard Certified low emitting surfacing without special orders or extra cost. The Nevamar material used is 1/8" thick and therefore eliminates a need to use unnecessary sub-structure material for support that would add to the cost & weight. Nevamar surfaces also resist scuffs, alcohol, boiling water, cosmetics, moderate heat and stains. It cleans easily with a solution of mild soap and water.

Bed Construction:
Beds feature hardwood construction, turned wood posts, and traditional styling. Panel beds also make use of wood veneered panels that enhance grain patterns, and overlays that add style and practical value. Headboards can be used separate and are pre-drilled to use with a stand-alone bed frame, or combined with a footboard and rails for a complete bed set-up. Some beds have double-lock rail heights that accommodate an under bed trundle unit. Industry standard twin, full, and queen sizes are available in headboard and footboard. King size beds are only available as a headboard, no footboards available in king size. All headboard and footboard products are constructed to meet our rigid standards of durability. Overlays, fluted pilasters, and wood turning treatments enhance the beauty and function of Carolina bedroom products.

Mirror Construction:
Mirror frames are constructed mostly of solid wood using overlays and formed components to provide strength and durability. Quality mirror glass is used to assure depth and clarity for the end user. Overlays and wood turning treatments enhance the beauty and function of Carolina mirrors.
